The Trumps’ choice of Christmas decorations for the White House has the internet freaked out.

According to Vogue Magazine, Melania Trump unveiled the weird White House holiday decorations, which was themed “Time-Honoured Traditions” on Monday.

White House director of communications for the first lady, Stephanie Grisham, posted a sneak peek of one of the hallways on Sunday and captioned it: “The holidays are upon us!! Right now: FLOTUS [First Lady of the United States] is seeing to every last detail here at the White House.”

The rather weird photo shows a long line of tall bundles of white twigs that lead to a fully-decked-out Christmas evergreen, which makes the White House look more like a haunted house than a winter utopia.

And of course, Twitter had loads to say about the creepy looking decorations.

“Are Christmas decorations supposed to give you creeping anxiety and a feeling of lingering dread?” said one user.

“Glad she's understood the aesthetic of the long national nightmare we're in,” said another.

But it wasn’t all doom and gloom, once the Christmas display was lit it looked absolutely stunning.
