Twitter suspends Rose McGowan’s account

Cape Town – Rose McGowan’s Twitter account has been temporarily suspended by the social media site.

The Charmed actress – who has been dubbed the ‘voice of the resistance’ for speaking up against Harvey Weinstein and others involved in the scandal including Bob Weinstein, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon – shared a screengrab of a message she received from Twitter, on Instagram.

The message informs McGowan that her account has been suspended as it “violated the Twitter rules.” Her account has been limited to browsing her feed and sending DMs to her followers, preventing her from being able to tweet, retweet or like posts.

The suspension comes after McGowan repeatedly called Ben Affleck out for knowing about Weinstein’s sexual assault actions but denying it.
