Cape Town - Victoria Beckham recently spent £1 200 (over R21k) on a new moisturiser – that’s made from her own blood.

The 44-year-old fashion designer revealed on Instagram Stories that she’s using an anti-ageing product made by Dr Barbara Sturm who’s known for her “vampire facials”, Daily Mail reports.

Victoria decided to try the range last week after she’d taken her daughter, Harper (7), to get a facial at Sturm’s clinic in Germany.

“Dr Sturm took my blood and created healing factors made by my own cells, which is highly anti-inflammatory and regenerative,” Victoria posted.

“I’ll be testing it out this week both morning and night.”

HOW IT WORKS

The treatment, known as MC1, is prepared for each client using blood removed from them during a consultation.

Sturm takes a sample to her lab to make a 50ml pot of cream. The rest of the blood is frozen for future orders, The Sun reports.

The former Spice Girls singernrecently said her ever-changing looks have wreaked havoc on her skin. However, she now enjoys a smoother pace of life and her skin has settled, Daily Mail reports.

“I used to have quite bad skin when I was younger and I was constantly covering up spots and things like that,” she told In The Gloss.

“Luckily I don’t have to worry too much about that anymore. Over time, you learn what works for you.”

Sturm’s skincare range is also popular with celebs like Gwyneth Paltrow, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Kim Kardashian.
