Cape Town - Who knew Angelina was a pilot? Well, we certainly didn’t!

In a new ITV special The Queen’s Green Planet, which aired on on ITV in Britain on Monday, The 42-year-old actress expertly piloted an aircraft over the Namibian desert, reports Us Weekly.

“I think it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world,” Angelina said to her co-pilots.

The By the Sea actress/director, who appeared in the documentary with Queen Elizabeth and naturalist David Attenborough, also shared her thoughts on the African country’s forest conservation.

“For us to come here and say to the children, ‘This is why it’s important to plant a tree’, that’s the biggest message I can teach my kids, and it’s something that they’ve certainly learned from Her Majesty and her message,” says the mom of six.

According to The Fix, the American actress first met Queen Elizabeth when she was made honourary dame for her work against sexual violence.

Angelina’s fans weren’t only impressed with her positive message, they were also surprised by her incredible piloting skills.

“What even is this show?! Attenborough, The Queen, and now Angelina Jolie just casually flying a plane. Is there anything she can't do?” said one fan.

“Angelina Jolie is flying a plane over the desert nonchalantly. Is there anything this woman can’t do??” said another.

The filmmaker got her pilot’s license back in 2014 because her son Maddox inspired her at the time, reports People.

“If I could actually fly a plane by the time he’s four, I’ll be like Superman to him,” Angelina said then.

Not long after that, the mom purchased a single-engine plane, a Cirrus SR22-G2 worth $334 700 (around R4 million).
