Cape Town – Did Brad Pitt really bring his joke writer with him to the Oscars?
The 56-year-old has swept up all the awards this season, culminating in his win for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And again, the actor took to the stage cracking a few jokes after thanking the academy.
"They told me I only had 45 seconds this year, which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week," he said, referring to President Donald Trump's impeachment trial. "I'm thinking maybe Quentin [Tarantino] does a movie about it. In the end, the adults do the right thing."
Brad went on to praise the acclaimed director and made special mention to his costar, Leonardo DiCaprio, before dedicating his first-ever Oscar to his children.
"This is for my kids who colour everything I do. I adore you," he said.

Brad shares Maddox (18), Pax (16), Zahara (14), Shiloh (13), Knox (11) and Vivienne (11) with ex-wife, Angelina Jolie. When he's not working the actor spends much of his time with his kids. He spent his birthday and Christmas with the children in December and recently missed the Baftas to do the same.
His costar, Margot Robbie, delivered his acceptance speech on his behalf at the ceremony where, again, he cracked a few jokes that even had the president of the Baftas, Prince William, in stitches.
"Oh and he says he's going to name this Harry," the Bombshell actress said at the Baftas, "'cause he is really happy about bringing it back to the States with him."
As for that rumour about him having a writer to help him with his speeches, the actor said in his press room interview, it's all him.
"I definitely write 'em. I have some funny friends, I have some very, very funny friends that help me with some laughs, but it's got to come from the heart."
