Johannesburg - Caitlyn Jenner recently got candid on camera about her transition into the LGBTQI+ community and how she’s ‘constantly on eggshells’ when it comes to talking about being a transgender woman.

Caitlyn - who made a guest appearance as a panelist on American lunch time chat show Loose Women on ITV - revealed that it had been quite an interesting journey since transitioning in 2015.

"It’s been quite a journey actually it’s been very interesting because the way people look at it… you know we think of male privilege, white male privilege out in society… and people ask why would you give all that up?" she said.

The I am Cait star, who once made headlines after making a controversial statement about wanting to be treated like a ‘normal woman’ which she received backlash for especially from the LGBTQI+ community, also admitted while on the show that she constantly had to watch what she said.

"I said something that was important to me that, personally, I didn't want to look like a man in a dress," said Caitlyn.

"If I was going to do this, I think like everybody you want to be able to do a good enough job that at least you're passable. It just blew up, like, 'Oh my god', what about the ones out there that want to look like a man in a dress?' I'm constantly on eggshells."

Caitlyn also confessed that prior to her transition she had never "met another trans person before" which made it really "tough" for her to speak on the topic in case it offended the community.

"They have this thing called the internet. It's kind of frightening because everything you do is scrutinised by a lot of people, and it gives even the smallest majority in any community a big voice." She said then went on to add, "The media's looking for that, they're looking for controversy."

The 68-year-old reality star, who alleges in her book The Secrets of My Life that her split with Kris Jenner in 2015 after being married for 22 years was caused by their reality series KUWTK, admitted that the hardest thing about deciding to become a transgender woman was letting go of "Bruce".

"It was tough at first. He was a good person, he raised good children, he won the games, and all of a sudden it was like, he was gone and it was me. I didn't change that much, little Bruce still lives inside."
