Carole Baskin has, for the most part, avoided any and all press since Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness was released on Netflix in March, but all you cool cats and kittens will be excited to know she just did her first interview.
Though the story follows former zoo owner, Joe Exotic – her longtime rival who is currently in jail for conspiring to kill her and violating several laws for his treatment and killing of big cats – it also takes a closer look at Carole and has led to investigators probing the disappearance of her husband. Fans have come up with numerous theories – the most popular is that Carole killed Don Lewis and fed him to her tigers – and let's just say a viral video detailing it all to the sound of Megan Thee Stallion's Savage is not exactly helping her case.
The animal rights activist unknowingly just gave her first interview since Tiger King first started streaming to South African-born YouTuber, Josh Pieters and comedian, Archie Manners, via Zoom.
According to Variety, it was all part of an elaborate hoax in which the 58-year-old was tricked into thinking she would be appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The two reached out to Carole and pretended to be producers on the late-night talk show.
Their video details everything from their emails back and forth to how they recorded past audio clips of Fallon's interviews and pieced them together. Their masterful job could rival the Tiger King documentary itself, because the big cat enthusiast went on to talk about the pandemic, the Big Cat Public Safety Act and reminded people to never pay money to pet a big cat.

After the interview, Carole told US Weekly she knew something was up – and she wasn't angry about their chat.
"I was suspicious as we were doing it because the questions appeared taped. But had no idea it would turn out to be such a fun prank," she said. "It gave us a very welcome good laugh. I appreciate their cleverness and that they created their video in a way that I don't feel was in any way mean-spirited."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, this isn't the first time the duo managed to pull off such an elaborate prank. They previously tricked Craig David into a chat, as well as TikToker Holly H, Love Island couple Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury and magician Julius Dein, who they got by using audio bits of James Corden. Their most recent prank saw the two fly Katie Hopkins to Prague to receive a fake award.
