WATCH: Jada Pinkett Smith just gave the best example of women's empowerment

Cape Town – Jada Pinkett Smith just shared a perfect example of “sister solidarity” and we’re listening.

The Girls Trip actress was at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival over the weekend and apart from acting as a film festival juror for the US Drama category and supporting her son Jaden on the red carpet of his Skate Kitchen premiere, Jada had an important task to do.

Jada spread the word of equality in front and behind the camera at The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation Presents Broadening the Lens: Perspective on Diverse Storytelling panel discussion.

The 46-year-old referenced to the empowering moment when Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer made a favoured nations deal for a new film project they are working on to emphasise that things are being done behind closed doors.

Side note: A Favoured Nations deal is a “contractual commitment that no other relevant party will receive “better” (or more advantageous) terms from the party making the commitment.”

Jada shared Naz Pankey's recording of the discussion on Twitter for the world to see and understand that action is being taken.
