Johannesburg - Singer John Legend recently honoured his wife Chrissy Teigen in the sweetest way during his speech at the Glamour’s 2018 Women of the year award.
Chrissy Teigen who was amongst the honourees shed a few tears as she was accepting her award which was presented to her by none either than her husband John Legend. In the heartfelt speech, the All of me hit maker described himself as a “trophy husband” and expressed how much he loved his wife.
Hi, everyone. I’m John. Also known as Chrissy Teigen’s trophy husband," he said jokingly in the introduction.
“Sometimes Chrissy likes to take me out on the town and show me off a little. Nights like this one, when people are taking pictures.”
The Grammy winner also shed a tear as he explained how he wasn’t the only person that adored Chrissy but so did the rest of the world,
“But I’m not the only one who loves her. Many millions of people who aren’t married or related to her love her too,” he said.
“Everywhere I go, I meet people, fans, who used to ask me for an autograph or tell me how much they love my music. Now, the number one comment I get from people who used to be MY fans is how much they love Chrissy.”
An emotional John also detailed how his wife who he welcomed his second child with earlier this year, was a humanitarian and had it not been because of social media the world would’ve missed out on her awesomeness.
“She inspires so many people and so many women. I mean, she’s the kind of woman you write songs about. Huge, international, award-winning songs…but this is about Chrissy,” John said speaking about his wife.
As Chrissy ascended to the stage in an all-white angelic dress she was left completely speechless,
“John didn't even cry when I was giving birth,” she said teasing her teary-eyed husband as she took the podium.
