Cape Town - Just a few weeks following a near-fatal car crash, Kevin Hart is "thankful for simply still being here".
The actor and stand-up comedian sustained major injuries in a horrific car crash that almost claimed his life in September. Just over a month later, Kevin has made an incredible recovery and is doing better than ever.
Taking to his Instagram, the 40-year-old shared a tear-jerking video documenting his emotional recovery journey.
"Basically what you realise is that you're not in control. No matter how much you think you're in control, you're not in control," Kevin says in the video as images from the accident showing the wreck of his car are displayed.
"At the end of the day, it can all be over."
In the clip, the father of three can also be seen standing up again for the first time with the assistance of nurses.
Eventually through countless therapy sessions, Kevin takes his first steps, which soon turn into walks and even full workout routines, CNN reports.
"After my accident, I see things differently," he says in the video.
"I see life from a whole new perspective. My appreciation for life is through the roof. I am thankful for simply still being here..."
