WATCH: Prince Harry addresses royal baby news for the first time

Cape Town - The Duke of Sussex has spoken of his impending fatherhood for the first time at a reception in Admiralty House, the Australian Governor-General's official residence in Sydney.

Addressing a small audience, Harry thanked everyone for their warm welcome as well as the well wishes received after announcing he and Meghan are expecting their first child.

"We genuinely couldn't think of a better place to announce the upcoming baby, be it a boy or a girl. So, thank you very, very much."

Shortly thereafter, grandfather-to-be Prince Charles said on a tour of a whisky distillery that he had toasted the news of his fourth grandchild "many times."
