Cape Town – If you’re an avid Shawn Mendes follower, you will have noticed the heartthrob has a massive bruise on the left side of his face.
Well, like most war stories, Shawn’s scar story is “hardcore”.
In an interview with E! News at the Little Brick Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee on Tuesday, Shawn revealed he was in a scooter accident.
“Oh my face? I fell off my scooter yesterday, very hardcore,” Shawn first says.
Explaining what happened, the 20-year-old revealed that he “wasn’t even going that fast” and then “something happened.”
He said: “I wasn't even going that fast, actually. I was going a little bit slow, then I turned around and something happened. I said, ‘I don't want to break a wrist!’ So, I put my face into the ground.”

Putting up a strong front Shawn added that all is okay because he can still play guitar and sing – the Stitches hitmaker was in Tennessee to tape an episode of CMT Crossroads with Zac Brown Band.
