  • Keke Palmer engaged with guards on the streets of Hollywood on Tuesday.
  • The actress urged the guardsmen to join them in protest. "March with us. March beside us. Get your people. March beside us," she urged them.
  • Though the guards maintained that they couldn't leave their posts, they took a knee in what became a powerful, viral moment.

Keke Palmer joined protestors on Tuesday in Hollywood as they flooded the streets after the murder of George Floyd.

She joins the likes of celebrities including Kendrick Sampson, Cole Sprouse, Ariana Grande and more, after the 46-year-old black man was killed by a police officer on 25 May.

In the video which was shared by NBC News correspondent Gadi Schwartz and went viral on Tuesday, the Hustlers star engages with national guardsmen standing at their posts.

"You have to pay attention to what's going on or else we have a president that's trying to incite a race war," she said of Donald Trump's recent threat that he'd have officers shoot protestors if need be.

"The borders are closed. We can't leave. We have people here that need your help. This is when y'all stand together with the community, with society, to stop the governmental oppression. Period. We need you, so march with us."

She continued: "March with us. March beside us. Get your people. March beside us. Let the revolution be televised. March beside us and show us that you're here for us. Make history with us, please! Let's just do it. We start marching and you march with us."

Though the men explained they had to do their job and stand by their post, they showed their support, eventually taking a knee.

The 26-year-old's been vocal on social media since the protests started. She recently shared her thoughts on Instagram.

"Imagine having lost your job, being told you can't leave your house because of a disease that's killing millions, then you see a man being murdered on film for not being able to breathe during a pandemic that attacks the respitory system. And add a history of racism. It's irony..." she says in a video. "Human beings can only take so much and irrational leadership, breeds irrational responses."

"We deserve a new system," she says, "because the old one was created to oppress us."
