Cape Town - Technology has made life so much simpler when it comes to money and paying for things because instead of carrying cash everywhere, now all you need is your card or just your smartphone.

Even though that’s the case, it’s not why Kris Jenner only keeps $100 (about R1 400) in cash on her.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on her show, Kris and Kylie spoke about how much money they keep in cash and why. While Kylie says she doesn’t carry any cash on her, just her credit card, Kris only carries $100 in $20 (R280) notes "just in case".

"Back in the day I used to carry $1 000 in cash on me every single time, whether I have money or not, I always had that, it was my thing. I kept it in 20s. But every time I looked in my purse, half of it was gone because I had six kids. It always just evaporated like that. Eventually I just gave up and now there’s less to steal," she told Ellen.

Ellen reminded her that none of her children need to steal from her anymore.

In the same episode, Kylie and Kris identified a young woman who quit her job to help other young women in her community. She started an organisation that helps young women who need mentorship but cannot afford it. Her organisation also helps young children with school supplies and clothes.

To commend the young woman for all the good she does, Kylie gave her and her team money and gifts amounting to close to $1 million (About R14 million).
