WATCH: Trevor Noah talks SA and love of animals on US talk show

Cape Town – Trevor Noah had a whopping 14 dogs when he was growing up and yes he had them all at the same time!

The South African comedian stopped by Live! With Kelly and told the show host and guest co-host Morris Chestnut what it was like growing up with animals.

“We loved animals growing up, we still do! We had a little aviary in the back yard so we had birds, then we had rabbits and the dogs and they all had to learn to live together.”

Noah goes on to describe what it was like keeping track of all their names, he said: “At some point you run out of names. You’re very creative with the first two… and then some point you’re like ‘puppy, five, seven, dog, dog two you just go down the line.”

Noah also chatted about his time on season four of Strictly Come Dancing SA.

When asked about his “specialty” on the dance competition, Noah answered: “Being nervous before dancing. I was actually really good at ballroom more than I was at Latin. I loved Latin but ballroom was my forte.”

The Daily Show host made it to the semi-final round but getting there didn’t come easy, he added: “Dancing With The Stars is like bungee jumping – I would never do it again, but I am happy I did it. It’s the most stressful experience ever!”
