We unpack the Sir and Rumi cameo in Beyoncé and Jay-Z's On the Run II tour opener

Cape Town – Beyoncé and Jay-Z sent fans into a dizzy after kicking off their On the Run II tour on Wednesday in Cardiff, Wales.

While the actual kick-off of the tour was enough to make the couple trend worldwide, a cameo by twins Sir and Rumi Carter – who celebrate their first birthday on 13 June - stole the spotlight, E! News reported.

But is it really the twins?

In the opener of the show images of Bey and Jay - separated by title cards that read “Love Never Changes” and “Love Is Universal” - appear to be holding two babies and of course, straight away everyone assumed it was the second official public appearance of their adorable twins.

However, after inquiring about the babies Buzzfeed reports that the adorable tiny tots are in fact not the twins.

When reached out for comment a rep for the couple simply responded, “It’s not” without providing any other information.

But wait, there’s more.

During the show the massive screen onstage - which showed the images of Beyoncé and Jay-Z holding babies who reportedly don’t belong to them – also screened a video of what looks like a vow renewal ceremony between the muso couple.

According to E! News the video - in which Bey, Jay, Blue, Sir and Rumi are dressed in white - played in the background while the couple sang Young Forever.

Of course, Blue Ivy makes an appearance with her mom and dad, but low and behold two babies do, too.

Now, it would only make sense to assume that the cuties are Sir and Rumi but after reports that the first two images aren’t the twins, we have questions.

E! News further reports that the video also shows footage of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s family life with their kids.

A rep has not yet responded to request for comment regarding the kids in the video.

The first and only official time Beyoncé has shown her babies off to the public was with a photo shared on Instagram a month after their birth. Following the theme of her pregnancy announcement, Bey appeared in front of a floral backdrop cradling the newborns.
