Cape Town - Chris Hemsworth admits to breaking the rules when it comes to his 6-year-old daughter, India Rose.
In a recent interview with talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel, the 35-year-old actor and several of his Avenger: Endgame co-stars discussed the upcoming release of the latest Marvel film, Fox News reports.
When Kimmel brought up the cast’s recent trip to Disneyland, Hemsworth spoke about taking his daughter on a roller-coaster ride in the famous theme park a few years ago, Insider reports.
"I took my daughter on it a couple of years ago when it was previously called the Tower of Terror or something," Hemsworth said of the ride that’s now called Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout!
The ride is a tower attraction where visitors are lifted to more than 55m before suddenly being dropped at high speed.
The Thor star said his daughter was too short for the ride’s height requirement which was set at 1.02 metres, but instead of throwing in the towel, Hemsworth devised a cunning plan to sneak her onto the ride, Inquisitr reports.
"She was really upset," he said. "And I was like, 'Nah, forget this. Come here.'"
The actor went on to explain how he used a few Snickers bars to increase his daughter’s height.
"I grabbed a couple of Snicker bars and slammed it in the back of her shoe under the heel," he continued.
"I walked up [to the Disneyland staff and] was like, 'What about now?'
"And they're like, 'Okay, in you come'," Hemsworth said to applause from the audience.
But his co-star Scarlett Johansson wasn’t impressed, saying: "It's wildly irresponsible, and you're all cheering."
Although Hemsworth and his daughter managed to get on the ride, the star admits that perhaps height requirements are there for a reason.
"So, we're sitting in the chair ... We're at the top and I'm looking at her and she's strapped in and the seat is massive on her," he said.
"[I] grab onto her. She's, like, screaming the whole way down. So, don't do that."
It seems though the actor has learnt his lesson, he’s still happy he made his daughter’s day. "She's fine. She's well. I'm her hero."
