‘Zombie’ Angelina Jolie was ‘faking it to amuse herself’

Cape Town - The “zombie” Angelina Jolie lookalike who claims to have undergone 50 surgeries to look like her idol has admitted to “faking” her appearance.

Sahar Tabar went viral when Instagram images of her distorted face started circulating on the internet.

The teen claimed to have had 50 plastic surgeries and gone on a drastic diet to look more like the Hollywood actress, although social media users commented she looked more like a zombie than Angie.

According The Sun, there was some speculation about the authenticity of the photos – and then an eagle-eyed viewer pointed out Photoshop distortions in one of her images.

Now, the 19-year-old has finally confessed that the images are fake. Drastic weight-loss and over-the-top surgeries were not the cause of Sahar’s gaunt appearance.

The haunting images are simply a result her photo editing skills, said the Iranian teen.

Sahar told Russian news outlet Sputnik: “Now I can see that I have something in common with [Angelina Jolie], but I amuse myself, and to look like someone is not my goal.”

She added that her look, characterised by hollow cheeks, inflated and pouting lips, and bright blue eyes shouldn’t be taken at face value.

Sahar added: “Over time I post a photo, I make my face more fun and funny, it is a form of self-expression, a kind of art.

“My fans know that this is not my real face.”

Untouched images on Sahar’s second Instagram account, posted in October, show a surprisingly normal-looking teenager.
