Princess Margaret and photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones's son, the Earl of Snowden and his wife, the Countess of Snowden, have "amicably agreed" to divorce.

David and Serena married in 1993 and have two children together, Charles Armstrong-Jones, Viscount Linley, and Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones, according to HELLO! Magazine.

"The Earl and Countess of Snowdon have amicably agreed that their marriage has come to an end and that they shall be divorced. They ask that the press respect their privacy and that of their family," a spokesperson said on Monday, BBC reported.

David Armstrong-Jones is the nephew of Queen Elizabeth, and the news comes just a week after the queen's grandson, Peter Phillips, announced his split from his wife, Autumn, after 12 years of marriage.

It's been a rather tumultuous start to the year for the queen who is also dealing with the fallout of Prince Harry and Meghan's exit from the royal firm and Prince Andrew's ongoing sexual misconduct scandal.
