Cape Town - Finally, Baby Archie’s secret godparents have been unmasked!

In a break from royal tradition and one which raised many eyebrows, Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, famously chose not to reveal who their son’s godparents were at his private christening last year.

However two of the names have now been released – Tiggy Pettifer (formerly Legge-Bourke) who was Harry and his brother, Prince William’s childhood nanny, and Mark Dyer, Prince Charles' former royal aide and close friend, The Sunday Times has claimed.

Tiggy was among the select guests who attended Archie’s christening. The 54-year-old, who now lives in Wales, looked after Harry and William in the Nineties and was a pillar of emotional support for them during their parents’ divorce and when Princess Diana died.

"She’s a very significant person in Harry’s life, almost like a mother figure," a source told Hello! magazine.

Harry introduced Meghan to Tiggy shortly after their engagement in November 2017 where they apparently "got on famously" the insider adds.

Meanwhile Mark (53), a former Armed Forces officer who was assigned to work as an aide and guard to Charles, is also very close to Harry and was spotted attending a fundraiser dinner for Harry’s charity, Sentebale, on Sunday night where the Prince gave an emotional speech, Hello! Magazine reports.

During his time as Charles’s aide and guard, he was also charged with keeping an eye on Harry and William after Diana died and he famously took Harry on safari in Botswana in the wake of her death.

He remained a mentor to Harry, later advising him on his military career and charity in Africa. He now runs two pubs, one of which Harry brought Meghan to when they started dating.

His son, Jasper Dyer, is one of Harry’s godsons and was a page boy at his and Meghan's wedding in May 2018.
