Cape Town – Check your schedules because there is another royal wedding in the works.
Lady Gabriella Windsor - the daughter of Queen Elizabeth II's cousin, Prince Michael of Kent – is engaged to Thomas Kingston. The couple are set to marry in spring 2019 (autumn in South Africa).
Buckingham Palace announced in a statement on Wednesday that the couple got engaged in August while visiting the Isle of Sark and are “delighted” to share their exciting news, E! News reports.
The statement further revealed details about both Gabriella and Thomas, saying: “Lady Gabriella (known as ‘Ella by those close to her’) is a Senior Director at Branding Latin America, a brand-positioning platform that specialises in the region. She is also a writer and contributes to The London Magazine. Mr. Kingston works in frontier market investment and is a Director of Devonport Capital.”
According to People magazine, Thomas has been involved with another well-known name within the royal family – he previously dated the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, Pippa Middleton. They ended things in 2011 but have remained friends over the years.
Gabriella is currently 51st in the line of succession to the British throne, behind her father, older brother Lord Frederick Windsor and her two young nieces, Maud and Isabella Windsor.
Lady Gabriella and Thomas' wedding announcement comes shortly before Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank are set to tie the knot in October.
