Cape Town – The queen released a statement on Monday following discussions with Prince Harry, Prince Charles and Prince William at Buckingham Palace. This, of course, after the Duke and Duchess announced their decision to "step back as senior members of the royal family".
In her statement, while admitted discussions were far from over, the queen said the family is "entirely supportive" of the Sussex family's decision while adding there will be a "period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK" before a more permanent move is made.
So what exactly could happen if Harry and Meghan move to Canada? Would Prince Harry have any royal powers? And could the couple take on an official role in Canada? With the help of the Canadian Press, we take a look here:
