Cape Town – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced their newborn son as well as his name, to the world on Wednesday – but if you think you've heard this name before, you may be right.

While many were surprised that Prince Harry and Meghan named their baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, others are convinced his cousin, Prince George may have revealed the name months ago.

In January a dog walker recalled bumping into Prince George – the first-born son of Prince William and Kate – out on a stroll with his grandmother, Carole Middleton, and sister, Charlotte.

"Just to be friendly I engaged in a bit of small talk and I asked George what his name was, even though obviously I knew it," the woman told The Sun at the time.

"To my astonishment he said 'I'm called Archie' with a big smile on his face. I don’t know why he calls himself Archie, but kids often play with their names and I think it's lovely."

Wait, what?!

While at the time it seemed as though young George was just fooling around or was perhaps talking about an imaginary friend, as Vanity Fair put it – things paint a very different picture now.

Never-the-less, new parents Harry and Meghan are over the moon with their "bundle of joy" having told reporters at their photo call on Wednesday: "He's just been the dream."
