Cape Town - The Duchess of Sussex’s life hasn’t always been filled with glitz and glam.

As part of their Australian tour Meghan and Prince Harry (34) visited Macarthur Girls High School in Sydney on Friday, 19 October where the 37-year-old revealed to the young ladies what her first job was, reports New Idea.

The former Suits star told the 14-year-olds she used to “take out the trash” and it humbled her and made her who she is today.

Meghan became emotional as she expressed her pride at how passionately the young women spoke about their views and said they reminded her so much of how she was growing up, writes People magazine.

“I went to an all-girls school which was incredibly diverse as well,” she said.

“I think being around such empowered young women, it becomes something you all just grasp onto, to understand your world,” she continued.

The duchess then went on to say how marvelled she is at the work the teens are doing, writes Mirror.

Prince Harry also spoke at the engagement, highlighting the strength of women and talking about how men should also participate in the fight for equality.

“Men can help as well by getting involved. We have to,” Harry said.

“We need to get men’s voices involved as soon as possible,” he continued.
