Here’s how Meghan will spend her first birthday as a member of the British royal family

Cape Town - Meghan’s life has changed considerably since becoming a member of the British royal family.

There are a lot of strict rules the novice royal is expected to live by, including not posting selfies on social media, not wearing short dress and not going for solo walks in public.

And we bet it won’t be any different on her birthday!

On Saturday, 4 August Duchess of Sussex will celebrate her first birthday as a member of the royal family – but there won’t be a lavish party and she definitely won’t be the focus of attention on the day, The Mirror reports.

Instead, Meghan will be attending an event on her 37th birthday that’s unrelated to her special day as well as her royal duties – the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be attending a wedding.

Hello! reports that one of Prince Harry’s closest long-time friends, Charlie van Straubenzee, will marry Daisy Jenks in the village of Churt, Surrey – and that Harry will serve as best man.

Because Prince Harry will be taking on a role at the nuptials, Meghan will probably have to sit by herself.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, Charlie is one of the prince’s best friends.

Charlie and his brother Thomas were ushers at the Duke of Sussex’s wedding in May, and now Harry gets to return the favour!

The former Suits actress used to share celebrations of her previous birthdays with her followers on her now-deleted Instagram account.

Meghan spent her 36th birthday with Prince Harry on a trip to Africa last year.
