Cape Town - Although Duchess Meghan’s baby shower was known to the public, she did manage to keep something private.

During her show on CBS This Morning, news anchor Gayle King, who attended the lavish baby shower at The Mark Hotel in New York, said Meghan had refused to open her gifts because she wanted to do it with Prince Harry, Cosmopolitan reports.

"She wants to do that when [Prince] Harry and her are back together, so I really don’t know what everybody got her," Gayle said. "I think I got her something very nice."

But a source recently told Us Weekly that the former Suits actress didn’t open her baby shower gifts because of a different reason.

"The reason they didn’t open gifts at the shower wasn’t because Meghan wanted to open the gifts with Harry, but because they would have revealed the baby’s gender," the source said.

Last October, the royal couple, who tied the knot in May, announced that they’re expecting a baby, the BBC reports.

"Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the spring of 2019," the Kensington Palace statement read.

"Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they’ve received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."

Meghan and Harry are reportedly expecting their baby in April.
