Cape Town - It seems the Duke of Sussex isn’t above turning on the charm to get out of trouble.

In the 2018 biography Harry: Conversations with the Prince, author Angela Levin reveals how the then bachelor prince was once stopped by traffic authorities for exceeding the speeding limit, Express UK reports.

"On one occasion, he decided to ride down to Kent for the day to eat fish and chips by the seaside," Levin writes.

The adrenaline-loving prince opted to take his bike on the highway – accompanied by his protection officers – and was pulled over by traffic officers for exceeding the speeding limit.

"The protection officers showed their Metropolitan Police badges but the local police were determined to press charges," Levin writes.

According to the book, all that was needed was for Harry to turn on the charm. "His magic ability of making strangers instantly warm to him didn’t let him down and the officers decided that on this occasion a verbal warning was all that was needed."

The now 35-year-old Harry followed in his brother Prince William’s footsteps when he got his motorbike license back in 2008, according to the Telegraph.

Prince William has since put his intensive biking days behind him for the sake of his children, HELLO! Magazine reports. We suspect Harry has done the same, now that he’s a dad to little Archie.
