Cape Town - Crisis mode has been activated in the palace ever since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, announced their decision to step back from their royal duties.

The drama has left Duchess Kate at a loss and pushing herself to the limit to fulfill her obligations, according to reports.

Kate has been devastated by the strain the situation has put on her once-close relationship with her brother-in-law, according to Us Weekly.

"She wishes she could speak to Harry. She misses him and fears she’ll never be close to him again," a source told the publication.

The insider claims that behind closed doors, she’s been crying over the distance between herself and Harry.

On top of her strained relationship with him, Kate is highly stressed about handling the weight of her increased workload now that Meghan and Harry have stepped back, reports Cosmopolitan.

"She barely has time to rest, and when she does try to sleep, her mind is constantly racing," the source said.

Nacho Figeuras, Harry’s close pal, has also weighed in saying the prince isn’t taking his decision to step down lightly, according to Glamour.

"He has suffered a lot from all of the things that have happened to him. He wants to live a normal life, as normal as his life is going to be, right?" Nacho said.

"Because when you have a thousand paparazzi outside your house in Canada waiting to get a picture of your son, that’s not very normal."

Harry and Meghan recently issued legal threats to stop paparazzi.

Kate and Meghan’s relationship has also reportedly worsened since the announcement. "They couldn’t be further apart," a source said.
