Cape Town – Lisa Bloom, one of the lawyers representing several alleged victims in the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking case, says she's "disgusted" by Prince Andrew's lack of cooperation in the case.
The Duke of York, who was famously close to the disgraced fancier, publicly addressed his friendship with the deceased Epstein in November in an explosive interview with BBC that critics called "disastrous". In the interview, he also discussed claims made by Virginia Roberts that when she was 17, she was procured by the convicted sex offender and forced to have sex with Prince Andrew on three occasions.
His Royal Highness vehemently denied all allegations levied at him.
Shortly after his interview, Andrew released a statement announcing that he would "step back from public duties" and "willing to help any appropriate law enforcement agency with their investigations, if required" in the Epstein case.
On Monday, however, the FBI revealed there's been "zero cooperation" from Prince Andrew in the case.
"I was absolutely disgusted to learn that Prince Andrew has not been true to his word," Lisa said on Tuesday, according to ITV News.
"What is deeply disappointing here is that Prince Andrew said on the record that he would cooperate and now he's just not doing it. I know that the FBI is taking information, they are interested, and they are looking to get all of the information about everybody.
"If someone else is criminally charged... then (the FBI) would have subpoena power and they could try to enforce it in the UK.
"We're going to demand justice, we don't just hope that people show up and answer questions, we demand it, we insist on it, we put the power of law behind it."
Lisa urged Prince Andrew to "step up" and "do the right thing".
