Cape Town - Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, recently announced they’d be taking their baby son, Archie, on his first official tour to South Africa later this year. But Meghan and Archie won’t be with Harry for the entire trip.

"The duke and duchess are really looking forward to meeting so many of you on the ground and continuing to raise awareness of the high-impact work local communities are doing across the commonwealth and beyond," the couple announced on Instagram.

The first part of the tour will reportedly consist of numerous engagements and events for the family before Harry (34) jets off to Angola, Malawi and Botswana alone for the second leg of the tour.

Although Buckingham Palace hasn’t given an official reason why Meghan (37) and Archie (six weeks) won’t be joining the prince, the Express revealed there are several risk factors that could have influenced the couple’s decision.

There’s a high risk of malaria in Malawi and Angola, according to the International Association for Medical Assistance to Travellers.

The long flights and numerous engagements would also be tiring for the mom and son, according to the Express.

Archie will be about five months old then, younger than his cousins Prince George and Princess Charlotte when they undertook their first royal tour, People reports.

George was nine months old with his parents, Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, took him to Australia in 2014 while Charlotte was 16 months old when she accompanied her family to Canada in 2016.
