The Duchess of Sussex (37) is unhappy that she can’t speak out on social media about the rumours surrounding her and her family.

According to a source close to the royal, Meghan feels helpless about not being able to have a voice since it’s against protocol for royals to use social media, Us Weekly reports.

Meghan – who’s given speeches at the United Nations about women’s rights – has always prided herself on her feminist principles and for standing up for marginalised groups who don’t have a voice, and finds it crippling not to be able to defend herself against media attacks, Glamour reports.

“She’s always relied on her own voice to stand up for others, and for herself. So not being able to say anything is a debilitating feeling,” the source said.

“She’s always been so independent, her entire life, and that’s all been taken away from her. She’s always been able to clap back on social media and now she can’t.”

The source said Meghan is fed up about the constant rumours that she and Kate Middleton aren’t seeing eye to eye, Daily Mail reports.

Royal commentator Robert Jobson said it would be unwise to believe speculation that the duchesses are feuding, Daily Star reports.

“We can’t really know the facts but a number of leaks suggest they’re not necessarily on the closest of terms,” he said.

“Kate is a mother of three children, she’s in a very different place in her life [than Meghan].”
