Cape Town - Meghan Markle’s father, Tom Markle, will apparently be walking her down the aisle.

Following months of speculation, an insider has confirmed to Daily Mail that the 73-year-old will, in fact, be walking his daughter down the aisle at the St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May.

Tom’s close friend also revealed Kensington Palace has been informed that the former Hollywood lighting director will be flying in from his retirement village in Mexico for the highly anticipated ceremony.

“He’s very excited about it,” said the friend, adding: “He’s very close to her [Meghan] and he’s very happy.

“All the pressure has been hard on him and he’s just trying to stay out of the limelight.”

According to The Express, Tom – who’s yet to meet Prince Harry – has no idea what he’ll be wearing on the day because the royal family has full control over that.

It was previously reported by Metro News that the former Suits actress could break with royal tradition and have her mom, Doria Radlan, walk her down the aisle on her big day.

The 61-year-old social worker met Harry at the Invictus Games in 2017 and Prince Harry described her as “amazing”.

“Meghan sees more of her mother because Tom leads such a quiet life, but she adores both her parents,” a source said.

“It would surprise no one if she has both her mother and father accompany her [down the aisle]. Tom has said from the start that he wants to walk her down the aisle, and that has never changed.”
