London - She’s had to give up a lot to wed the man of her dreams.

And now, apart from ditching bright-coloured nail polish and clothing, as well as toning down the PDA with her husband, Meghan will have to forego her favourite food.

According to Mirror Online, Queen Elizabeth II has banned carbs from Buckingham Palace’s menu. This includes potatoes, rice and – Meghan’s ultimate guilty pleasure – pasta.

Darren McGrady, a royal chef, says the carb ban is a personal choice of the queen. Lizzy is reportedly not a fan of starchy food and prefers to stay away from it.

Unlike her husband Prince Phillip, who “lives to eat”, the queen “eats to live”, Independent reports.

Poor Meghan. She previously shared that a “leisurely dinner of seafood and pasta” would feature in her ideal day of food.

In an interview with Delish, the Duchess of Sussex joked about the amount of pasta she consumes and what it does to her enviable figure.

“When I'm travelling, I won't miss an opportunity to try great pasta. I come back from vacation every year with a food baby and I've named her Comida. I get to the set and I'm like, 'Hey, Comida's here, and she's kicking.'"

The ban on carbs might not be too much of an adjustment for the former actress though. Prince Harry’s bride is known for keeping healthy by sticking to a mostly-vegan diet, with the occasional exception.

We guess “cheat days” will have to be spent outside of the palace courtyards?

Ah, the sacrifices we make for love!
