Cape Town - Spare a thought for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, whose family dramas continue to hog headlines for all the wrong reasons.

In the latest incident the Meghan’s future sister-in-law, Darlene Blount, found herself behind bars after being arrested for assault.

Police were called out to the 37-year-old’s home – which she shares with Meghan’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jnr (51) – on Friday, 20 July in Oregon, USA.

Darlene was charged with assault in the fourth degree and held overnight in the local county jail before she was released on bail, according to Daily Mail

But this isn’t the first time she’s broken the law. On New Year’s Eve cops were called out to Thomas and Darlene’s home again after the pair were involved in a boozy brawl.

She was arrested for fourth-degree assault however in her 911 call she stated Thomas was being “really f**king weird” and was beating himself up.

She says Thomas became jealous after she went out to a local bar and he thought she was trying to “f**k some dude”.

She claimed to be “scared” of her fiancé because he’s “a big guy”. But when the cops arrived they didn’t buy her story and arrested her instead. She was jailed for two nights but she wasn’t charged and was later released.

The two clearly have a volatile relationship. Back in 2016 Thomas was arrested for allegedly holding a gun up to Darlene’s head during another drunken argument.

Meanwhile, reports say Meghan (36) is terrified to speak to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, with whom she has a “turbulent relationship” in case he “leaks” their conversations to the press.

The 74-year-old, who lives in Mexico, has been exposed for lying to the media about his health woes – which saw him not attending Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in May – and staging paparazzi pictures for cash.

“She doesn’t even know how to communicate with her dad without knowing he won’t exploit her,” a source told US Weekly. “She lives in fear he’ll leak their communication. If he’s spoken this much already, why wouldn’t he leak their conversation?”

The two have reportedly not spoken since the royal wedding with the Palace giving him the silent treatment.

In a recent rant, Thomas said, “if the queen can meet Donald Trump she can meet me” in reference to the American president’s recent trip to the UK.

“If the Queen is willing to meet our arrogant and insensitive president she has no excuse not to meet me, I’m nowhere near as bad,” he told TMZ.
