London — Royal officials have confirmed that Meghan Markle's mother and father will arrive a week before her wedding to Prince Harry and will both have significant roles on the day.
Harry's press secretary Jason Knauf said on Friday in a statement that Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland will arrive during the week before the wedding on 19 May so they will have time to meet Harry's family.
He says they will visit with the queen and her husband Prince Philip, with Harry's dad Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, and with his brother Prince William and his sister-in-law Duchess Catherine.
SIGNIFICANT ROLES
Ragland will travel with her daughter by car to Windsor Castle on 19 May and Thomas will walk his daughter down the aisle of St. George's Chapel for the ceremony.
Knauf says Markle is "delighted" her parents will be by her side.
OTHER DETAILS
The statement further provided information of the royal wedding that will soon be released, including details about the bridesmaids and pages boys.
The full Order of Service will also be published on the morning of the wedding, to allow members of the public to follow the service from home.
Other information provided includes arrangements for the expected influx of people and traffic in the Windsor are as well as the times wedding guests and the royal family are expected to arrive at the church.
