Cape Town – Meghan’s brother is extending an olive branch to his half-sister and royal brother-in-law.

Thomas Markle Jr is formally inviting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to his wedding, set to take place in March, Daily Mail reports.

In an interview with the tabloid, the 52-year-old admitted that he hopes Meghan and Harry will accept the invitation and that the wedding will bring his family closer together after a whirlwind of turmoil.

“Absolutely I think our wedding will bring the family closer together. It's hopeful that if Meghan and Harry came and my father – Meghan and Harry could spend some time together with him and that would be good,” Thomas said.

Meghan – who is pregnant with her first child – has not made contact with her family since before her wedding in May 2018.

Since then members of the Markle family - including her father, Thomas and half-sister, Samantha – have blasted the royal family as well as Meghan in an attempt to get a reaction from them.

TV and newspaper interviews have continued to provide a platform for their desperate pleas, however Meghan and Harry have made no comment about the ongoing family drama.

According to E! News, Harry and Meghan have not yet rsvp’d to the invitation, but it is highly unlikely that the duchess will travel so close to her due date.

While the exact date of royal baby Sussex’s arrival has not been revealed, he/she is due in spring (autumn in South Africa) which generally takes place from March to June.
