The expectant royal wore a red and white Catherine Walker houndstooth coat which resembles a blazer and skirt suit designed by Moschino the late Princess Diana wore to Princess Eugenie’s christening in 1990.

Diana was photographed wearing the outfit on two other occasions - in 1991 and 1992.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, accompanied by Sweden’s Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, visited the Karolinska Institute on Wednesday morning in Stockholm.

William and Kate later went to Matteusskolan, a school where the Youth Aware of Mental Health program operates.

They also stopped by the NK Department Store “to open an interactive exhibition of UK design, fashion and brands that operate in Sweden.”

William praised Sweden's embrace of the great outdoors, in particular the physical and mental benefits of outdoor exercise for children.

Speaking at the end of their two-day visit to Sweden, William said that “one lesson that we will take home with us, is that children are actively encouraged to spend time outdoors, whatever the weather.”

William and Kate, both 35, will begin a two-day visit to Norway on Thursday.
