Cape Town – Prince William and Kate attended the 73rd British Academy Film Awards on Sunday – and although Prince William has been president of the Baftas for 10 years now, it was the Duchess of Cambridge’s appearance on the red carpet that turned heads.

Kate dazzled in a white and gold Alexander McQueen gown at the awards show and completed her look with a Van Cleef & Arpels mother of pearl necklace and matching earrings, an Anya Hindmarch clutch and Jimmy Choos, reports Harper’s BAZAAR.

Many praised the duchess for the fact that she’d previously worn the dress, when she visited Malaysia in 2012.

Kate’s decision is in line with the practice enforced across award shows this season to encourage stars to reduce their carbon footprint, which includes recycling their red carpet outfits. The Baftas was no different, asking attendees to "dress sustainably", reports People, and Kate certainly did.

But there were a few royal fans who thought Prince William also looked rather dashing in his re-wear, classic tux.

According to HELLO! Magazine, while passing on the red carpet, Kate was told, "You look beautiful," before another onlooker quickly quipped, "So do you, Will!"
