Cape Town - Alexi Lubomirski - the photographer who beautifully captured Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their official engagement shoot – is spilling the beans.

The expert shutterbug and his wife, Giada Lubomirski caught up with E! News' Sibley Scoles at the Daily Front Row Fashion Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel's Crystal Ballroom on Sunday night, revealing intimate details about working with the loved-up royal couple.

“It was nutty,” Alexi tells E! News, explaining that being hired came completely out of the blue.

“It was a very surreal end to the year because it came out of nowhere.

“I think one of Meghan’s friends saw me on Instagram - that I was in England during the announcement of the engagement and I was told later that this person said to her, ‘You should meet Alexi. He's great. You'd love him’ and that was it.”

Of the experience, Alexi said: “It was one of the easiest, most joyful jobs because they were so deliciously in love.”

And their affection for one another made it easy for Alexi - who had never done an engagement shoot before - to tell Harry and Meghan what he envisioned for the photographs.

“I said, ‘Just be yourselves and I will take pictures of you.’”
