Cape Town – The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared a never-before-seen picture of them during the early stages of their relationship.
The snap of the couple which was shared on their Instagram account was taken in Botswana, on their first trip together.
During their engagement interview, Prince Harry revealed that he convinced Meghan four weeks after their first date to join him on a trip to Botswana for five days.
In the picture Prince Harry and Meghan are tending to an elephant.
The caption reads: "Their Royal Highnesses travelled to Botswana to assist Dr. Mike Chase of Elephants Without Borders in equipping a bull elephant with a satellite collar. Approximately 100 elephants are poached/killed every day for their ivory tusks."
"The elephant pictured was sedated for just 10 minutes before he was up and back with his herd. Tracking his movements has allowed conservationists to better protect him and other elephants and ensure heightened protection for these beautiful creatures moving forward."
