Cape Town – Prince Harry is doing the one thing all first-time dads can't help but do – gush about his newborn son.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child together on Monday, 6 May. The royal couple announced his name, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, two days later.
On Tuesday, Harry visited Oxford "to highlight the positive work in the area to support the needs of children, young people, and adults".
The British royal's day consisted of a visit to Oxford’s Children’s Hospital – where he was greeted by a crowd of royal admirers and met with patients and parents of children who have been battling cancer.
One of the moms, Ida Scullard from Aylesbury – whose 3-year-old son, Emmett, is in remission after being diagnosed with testicular cancer at the age of 2 – recalled chatting to Harry revealing that he couldn't help but gush about his son, E! News reports.
Referring to her 10-week-old daughter, Ida said: "Harry asked me if she was over the stormy period as babies are supposed to be grumpy for the first 10 weeks – and she is.
"He said he's getting used to the baby now and how Archie has fitted into family life. He said he just feels part of the family and he can't imagine life without his son."
Also at the hospital, Harry was gifted a blue balloon animal by a young patient named Jay. Speaking to the young boy, Harry said: "I'll make sure to give this to my little boy. He's called Archie, and he'll probably pop it, because that's what kids do."

Speaking to another patient, 17-year-old James, Harry admitted little Archie had kept him up all night the night before, ITV News reports.
After his visit to the hospital, Harry stopped by OXSRAD disability Sports and Leisure Centre, which was opened by his mother, the late Princess Diana, in 1989.
He also officially reopened the newly renovated Barton Neighbourhood Centre - a hub for residents which houses a doctor’s surgery, good bank, café and youth club.
