Prince William raises concern for unrealistic beauty standards for young girls

Cape Town – Prince William teamed up with Professor Green and The Vamps to surprise students at the Ark Burlington Danes Academy.

There the gentlemen spoke of cyberbullying and the affects it has on the youth.

Prince William highlighted society’s unrealistic beauty standards for women and called out the “fakeness” of images put out on the web.

“I worry for you girls ... so don't try and recreate or think that's what, you know, you've got to aim for,” William said to in conversation with some student. 

“There's a lot of fakeness online so don't worry about that.”

The Duke, Professor Green and The Vamps further discussed Stop Speak Support, a digital code that helps young people navigate life online.

In addition William spoke of Heads Together’s - an initiative he's championed with Prince Harry and Kate Middleton over the past year – involvement with Stop Speak Support to help tackle online abuse.
