Cape Town – Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's 2020 wedding won't be televised.

The couple announced their engagement in September. "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married," they said.

The BBC announced on Saturday, though they will show "news coverage of the wedding across all our services", they will not be televising the full live video of the much-anticipated royal event, Express reports.

HELLO! Magazine shared on Tuesday that ITV have also chosen not to do a live television broadcast. A spokesperson said they will, however, be "reporting on the wedding within [their] ITV News programmes".

The decision has much to do with Prince Andrew's disastrous BBC interview in which he addressed his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and the accusations that he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman when she was 17 years old.

It was for this same reason the royals decided to postpone their lavish engagement party at Chiltern Firehouse bar and restaurant.

The father of the bride was notably absent from the star-studded event.
