Cape Town - On Friday Prince Harry followed in Princess Diana's footsteps when he walked through a minefield during his visit to Angola.

His Royal Highness joined The Halo Trust – the largest landmine clearance NGO – as he walked along the same street where his mother was famously pictured in 1997.

The duke also went on the visit the same spot as his mother, which is now a road named after her and toured the Princess Diana orthopaedic unit which treats victims of landmine explosions, reports the Press Association.

His last meeting of the day was a particularly special moment as he met with landmine victim Sandra Tigica.

Twenty-two years ago, Sandra met Princess Diana during her visit to an orthopaedic workshop where Sandra was being measured for a new prosthetic leg.

The picture of Diana and Sandra sitting side-by-side under a fig tree captured the hearts of many.

Prince William and Prince Harry first met Sandra at a lunch party at Wembley Stadium for ahead of a concert in honour of Diana in 2007.

The Duke of Sussex met the now 38-year-old at a reception at the British Ambassadors Residence in Luanda.

About meeting Princess Diana Sandra said it was an honour to sit next to a princess, reports the DailyMail.

She also shared that she has five children and named her daughter Diana in honour of his mother.

On meeting the prince she said that it is a 'long and beautiful story because she came out of the province to meet Diana's son, so this is putting the focus on all of us who have physical disabilities', reports the Metro.
