Every Monday the 93-year-old monarch receives a cordial gift from her palace staff.

Queen Elizabeth is known to be fond of her garden and what better way to show appreciation to her than with a posy of flowers specially picked by her garden manager.

According to gardening guru Alan Tichmars, the royal’s bunch of flowers are freshly cut from her garden at Buckingham Palace and placed on her desk for when she arrives back from Windsor Castle, The Sun reports.

"It’ll typically have six or seven different types of flowers from the garden to give her a little snapshot of what’s looking good at that time," Alan explained.

The half a dozen blooms, which can vary from a honeysuckle, blueberries and winter jasmines depending on the season, are presented to Her Majesty by the gardeners as a reflection of their labour.

The monarch appreciates the thoughtful gesture especially after her interest in gardening was discovered following a gardening project at Windsor in 2017, HELLO! Magazine reports.

The royal also hosts annual parties at Buckingham Palace in her garden, according to Express UK.
