Cape Town – Queen Elizabeth withdrew from a scheduled public appearance last minute on Thursday, due to ill health.

According to BBC, the British monarch was scheduled to attend a service marking the 200th anniversary of the Order of St. Michael and St. George but decided not to because she is not feeling well.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “The queen is "feeling under the weather today and has decided not to attend this morning's service at St. Paul's Cathedral. Her Majesty will be represented by the Duke of Kent as Grand Master of the Order.”

A series of tweets by the royal family’s official Twitter show the Duke of Kent representing his first cousin at the service.
