Cape Town  - Queen Elizabeth was spotted for the first time on Friday since Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle announced that they would be "stepping down as senior members of the royal family."

In the video shared by Sky News, the Queen has a serious expression on her face as she drives her Land Rover on her Sandringham estate in Norfolk at lunchtime.

Her Majesty spent the festive period at Sandringham with her family and usually stays at the estate until February.

The video comes after the Queen ordered an emergency meeting with royal households, to find a workable solution following the shock announcement.

According to ITV Royal Editor, Chris Ship, Meghan has returned to Canada, while Harry remained in London to "resume" discussions and a way forward for the Sussex family.
