Cape Town – Prince William and Kate Middleton will host the inaugural regatta for The King’s Cup on Friday, 9 August on the Isle of Wight, reports Kensington Palace.

The King’s Cup was unveiled, and the event was launched in May, and will serve to raise awareness for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s eight charities.

The regatta will see eight boats – one for each charity – take part in a series of races, and Prince William and Kate Middleton will each captain their own individual sailboats, going head to head for The King’s Cup.
