Cape Town - Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are starting their life as a married couple.

The newlyweds recently took a two-year lease on an apartment on the Great Tew Estate in the scenic Cotswolds, only a 90-minute drive from Kensington Palace in Chelsea, London, Us Weekly reports.

“Meghan loves the Cotswolds and fell in love with the estate the first time she went,” an unnamed source told Us Weekly. “They recently had security cameras installed around the perimeter [of the estate].”

The source also told the magazine that the pair will be staying at their new apartment on weekends as they wait for the renovations to Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace to be completed.

Harry and Meghan will have some A-list neighbours, including David and Victoria and Beckham, whose country home is situated just a stone throw away from the newlyweds’ abode, Bustle reports.

But the twosome aren’t the first royal couple to choose the Cotswolds as their residence. William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have lived there, as did the late Princess Diana’s sister Lady Jane.

In addition to their newly leased Cotswold residence, Harpers Bazaar reports that Harry and Meghan will be receiving a new home as a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth.

Her Majesty, who gifted Prince William and Kate Middleton Anmer Hall in Norfolk after they tied the knot in 2011, is expected to gift York Cottage, also in Norfolk, to the newlywed royal pair.
