Johannesburg - It seems the Duchess of Sussex wasn’t always on good terms with Her Majesty after a royal insider revealed that the queen warned Prince Harry (34) about Meghan’s demands when it came to her wedding attire.

The 37-year-old wanted to wear a tiara with emeralds, but was refused as the origins of the precious stones couldn’t be traced, Daily Star reports.

In his new book, Charles at Seventy: Thoughts, Hopes and Dreams, royal biographer Robert Jobson says that Harry had become increasingly agitated during the planning of the wedding, yelling at staff members, “What Meghan wants, Meghan gets.”

“The provenance of the tiara couldn’t be established. There were concerns it could’ve come from Russia originally,” a royal insider said.

“There was a heated exchange that prompted the queen to speak to Harry. She said, ‘Meghan can’t have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she’s given by me.’”

The 92-year-old also wanted to know why it was necessary for the former actress to wear a veil since she was married before, The Sun  reports.

Meghan ended up wearing a diamond and platinum headpiece chosen by Queen Elizabeth II, Mirror reports.

Kate Middleton apparently also ended up clashing with Meghan about the treatment of royal staff members.

“Meghan can be difficult. She has very high standards and is used to working in a Hollywood environment,” the source revealed.

“The message from the queen was very much Meghan needed to think about how she speaks to staff members and be careful to follow family protocols,” the source added.
